June 27, 20188 yr WPSD-TV 6 in Paducah ran a story about Trevor Mann, better known as Ricochet. Told about how he played football at Reidland but quit playing to pursue wrestling. Neat story I would post a link but am not very tech savvy lol. Maybe someone else can do that. It’s worth a look.

June 27, 20188 yr Author Hey @FSfan what else can you tell us about Ricochet? He is one of, if not the best junior heavyweight/cruiserweight pro wrestlers in the world. He is probably best known for his matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Was the youngest winner of their annual Super Junior tournament which features the best junior heavyweights in the world. Also wrestled under a mask as Prince Puma and was the first champion in Lucha Underground. Only 2-time winner of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla world title, an independent promotion in California where many of the top NXT stars also worked before going to NXT. Very acrobatic, high flying style but also very strong for his size. He can do a double rotation moonsault which I would have thought impossible till I saw him do it. Is listed on his Wikipedia page at 5’9” 195 pounds. He is big enough to be pushed as a heavyweight if WWE wants to do so, similar to AJ Styles or Daniel Bryan. The WPSD story had a clip of him running the ball for Reidland. He will turn 30 in a few months so I tried to find him on their roster for about 2004 or 2005 but KHSAA did not have rosters going back that far.

Not sure how much he played or how good he was but it’s neat to hear him announced as being from Paducah. He made a point of that in the WPSD story, that he wanted everyone to know where he came from.

June 27, 20188 yr Is he regularly appearing on NXT? Yes. You would love the ladder match he was in at Takeover New Orleans. And as I gotta go to work said, the match against Velveteen Dream at Takeover Chicago was also excellent.

He's probably the most elite athlete employed by WWE. At least one of the most elite. It's also cool to here, "From Paducah, Kentucky..."
