It's good to get this 'moving the playoff game' talk going early, since Manual's field isn't going to be available for X to use next Friday...

Please explain.

Move it to S. Oldham.

I bet you can think it through.

Here's a hint... X would be thrilled if the field wasn't available for their use.

I'm not following either.

If Manual defeats H, would the district end up X, M then H? That would cause M and X to both have home games first round? Pretty strange senario. I think the Dawgs may spoil your party and fix the dilema before it occurs.

BTW, why would H drop below X having already defeated them coupled with the fact that X now has two losses? Odd tiebreak system.

I am lost too

What is Manual record at this point?

If Manual beats H and causes a three way tie, X gets first place in the district on points because of their wins over the top 3A teams, and Manual gets second by virtue of head to head over Male.

I see.

So a hypothetical SOS advantage trumps an actual W-L advantage. HMMM.. interesting.

St. X easily in this one.

Attempted explanation: If I am reading this correctly,

1. You look at all the other teams you played during the regular season (excluding those teams involved in the tie).

2. You narrow that down to only the teams you beat.

3. You assign a point value to those teams based on how many wins they had during their season. (i.e. They have 6 wins = you get 6 pts.)

4. You then get to choose the 4 teams, who, when added together, give you the highest point total.

5. Whichever team involved in the tie has the highest point total becomes the No. 1 seed, 2nd highest is the No. 2 seed, and so on.

I don't think the 3 way tiebreaker system works that way. Each team gets to count the number of wins from their top 4 defeated opponents (not counting teams involved in the tie). The team with the most points is #1, second most is #2, etc. Manual wouldn't automatically get the #2 seed because they had beaten Male.

I understand all that but I thought that X had a better record than Manual over-all...no matter if Manual wins or loses to Male.

If Manual beats Male, X would be first in the points for the three way tiebreaker. If Manual is ALSO ahead of Male (at the moment, I believe they're tied or projected to be tied) then Manual would get a home game in the first round, and Manual stadium would be unavailable for X to use, no matter what their records would be. The district record is all that counts in all this, and if Manual beats Male (and X doesn't crap out to Butler) all three end up at 5-1.
