DF, do you believe WC is better this year then last? Or at least there pass defense? I came down last year for the WC/CC game saw Tandy just about pull the upset. WC's pass defense was very suspect. If they don't hold Tandy in check it will be a long night for the Dragons. On the other side of the ball CC's defense looked awlful against the WC so who knows.

I believe WC's defense is better, offense worse than last year. Overall the team is not as good, but as I've said before, I believe that's more a compliment to how good last year's team was. Most definitely last year Tandy and Co. gave Central fits. WC also didn't help themselves very much at times. Christian's last TD came on a pick six, and they absolutely imploded in the third quarter, much as they did against Marshall and much as Christian did in the fourth quarter of that game. However, I will say secondary-wise I see little difference in this year's team to last. Neither were very good against the passing game, but the rushing defense is much better. I see no reason Tandy would have any more of an advantage this year than he did last year, but of course as you pointed out he had a lot of success last year. I will admit, this is really one of those games where I am just kinda being a homer. I know on paper Christian looks better, but then, it's been that way before. They were supposed to be better in 2003 when they were #1, and they came away with a 35-0 loss. They were absolutely better in 2004 when they killed WC in the first game, but they still lost in 3OT in the second game. Christian matches up well against WC's defense with the passing game, but then Central's offense usually matches up well against a weaker Christian defense. It's just hard for me to imagine Central losing to Christian.

Any early predictions on how we'll see these games between ranked teams shake out this week? My predictions:

#3 Warren Central over #2 Christian County by 6

#4 Owensboro over #9 Apollo by 15

#6 Marshall County over #8 Graves County by 14

#7 Hopkinsville over #10 Paducah Tilghman by 3

#4 Trigg County over #8 Lone Oak by 14

I'm not bold enough to pick scores or amounts, but, I would pick the same teams you did to win....

The 2 games Warren Central has lost has been because their pass defense is poor. They have a pretty tough run defense. I predict a Christian Co victory due to the Colonels having a pretty good passing game with Tandy and Co.

Christian 34 Warren Central 21

Very true about the passing defense. I also think a contributing factor in their two losses were that the other team's defense was pretty good. Manual got what felt like 10 sacks against Central, and I know they had a fumble recovery and interception. And of course we all know about BG's defense.

I quite frankly don't believe Christian County's defense is good enough to hold the Dragons to 21 points. The Dragons are not the juggernaut they were last year, but no team other than Bowling Green has held them below 27 points. Christian County is no Bowling Green.

Just in case you're curious, the changes your vote would've made would have been to unbreak the tie between Apollo & Paducah (Apollo to 9, Paducah to 10), and it would have moved Russellville & Lone Oak into a tie for 8th.
