Evidently some people have started a petition to get the Cruiserweight match onto the main card, similar to the one last year when they successfully got the Smackdown Women's title match onto the main card.

 

These are the 3 matches that need to be Pre-Show IMO.

They've done really well keeping a lid on this. I thought for a long time that it would be Elias, but now I don't think so. Could be Big Show (hope not), could be Big Cass (really hope not), could be Ambrose (really, really hope not so that you are wrong), could be Ellsworth (meh). Or, it could be that Braun brings out an inflatable doll or something and fights them on his own.

Drew McIntyre would be the only NXT guy if he's healthy. Bobby Lashley perhaps from the indies. But the third category you sort of left out is returning injured star. Ambrose is one of those, but there are a slew of others. Cass, Big Show, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, and others I'm sure.

 

I think when Ambrose comes back it will be as a heel, either hurting Seth or Roman. Hopefully Roman. :lol2:

Lashley signed a deal a few months ago. Rumor was he would debut Monday after mania. That could be interesting if he's the partner. I have a feeling it will be Big Show. Another option could be Bray Wyatt's new character. He does have a history with Braun.

I go back and forth on this. For the longest time I thought Nakamura would surely win, but now I'm second-guessing myself. I do believe this will be the match of the night, and I guess I'll go with my first instinct. Nakamura wins a classic.

Balor/Rollins was a classic match on Raw the other night & I think this Sunday's triple-threat will be just as good. Miz isn't the best in-ring performer, but I think he retains somehow.

Randy Orton © vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Rusev - WWE United States Championship

The crowd would go nuts if Rusev won this thing, but I think Jinder leaves with the belt.

 

Charlotte Flair © vs. Asuka - WWE Smackdown Women's Championship

There's part of me that thinks Charlotte will end the streak, but the greater part of me sees Asuka claiming the title & perhaps also pinning a cashing in Carmella.

 

Alexa Bliss © vs. Nia Jax - WWE Raw Women's Championship

 

Nia dominates to claim her first title.

 

Cesaro & Sheamus © vs. Braun Strowman & TBA - WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

 

I love Braun but this is actually a match I hope he loses. My thinking is that they go with a comedy angle for his tag partner and the tag partner gets pinned.

 

The Usos © vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers - WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship

This is another one that should be a fantastic match. I think the Bludgeon Brothers get the straps by pinning one of The New Day members.

Dark horse contender for match of the night. I'll take Cedric in a thriller.

If there's no Shane heel-turn here, I think he & Bryan get the victory, forcing Owens & Zayn to Raw.

Hopin we don’t have two new Japanese champs. Don’t want it pushed that much. Asuka I think is a guarantee. Smackdown needs AJ as champ right now IMO.

Roman is another guarantee and I think Shane turning heel is almost one.

Braun took a photo with Bray Wyatt so now people are thing it's Wyatt as Braun's partner. Was talk of Rey Mysterio potentially being Braun's partner but it would have been for a short term.

I think it's definite that Undertaker will be there. Whether or not there's a match, I don't know.

 

I would guess there's definitely a Superstar shakeup. As you said, Smackdown desperately needs it, although Vince will probably shortchange it again.
