Marshall County 68 Paducah Tilghman 61 (1st Region Quarterfinals)

What a disappointing 2nd half of the year for Paducah

This is incredibly disappointing. I really wonder what has been going on internally at Tilghman, this team fell apart the last month or so of the season.

They don’t run any type of offense. When it comes down to the end of the game there is no execution at all.

This should really be a shock, but the way PT has played since late January, it really is no surprise at all. Great win for the Marshalls.

All the comments are exactly right. I am more disappointed in this team than any team we've ever had at Tilghman. Of course there have been teams that underachieved before, but none like this one.

This was the Senior group that everyone for years has expected to be a dominant team by this point. It was just never gonna happen.

This team continually got worse as the season went along, just like last season. If we couldn't get in the open court and run, we were reduced to an average team. There were just so many things that went wrong. I lay equal blame on the coaching staff and the players. It was a team effort.

The talent was there for this team to make a run and compete with anyone. That's what makes this season so hard to take.

With that said, this game was no upset as some would say. Marshall was a better team. As we trended downward over the last month plus, They continually got better. Marshall has as legit of a shot to get to Rupp as anyone in this Region. Their schedule is littered with very close, tough losses to good teams. They can compete. I can't think of a better school for a magical run to happen for right now.

I like what Kurt Barber said in his last season as head coach. He said that "we have the talent to compete with anyone in the state, but the desire to win isn't there."
