Why were Dixie students on the opponents side of the field?

The stands are only on one side of the field.

Thats asking for trouble. Any reason why they don't have visitor stands?

It really shouldn't be asking for trouble. Highlands is the same way. Highlands doesn't have the room and I don't know what Campbell Co. reason is other than it is an old stadium and that is the way it has always been.

I experienced some pretty rough Dixie fans the night before at the Highlands vs. Dixie Fresh. game. This incident doesn't surprise me.

I'm embarassed to hear that. I would love to tell these kids how they have tainted our school and tradition by their actions but I'm sure none read this board. However, I am sure some of the people at the freshmen game who acted do read this board.

All I said was that I think I may have gone for the tie but that was just an armchair quarterback comment. That is why I am not a coach and why they spent the time and energy to make those decisions for our teams. I respect the coaching staff and support them 100%. I know we are all upset with the loss but let's not get on each other. It was just my thoughts at the time, I am glad I did not have to make that call. As I said gutsy call and you are right probably the right one but maybe I would not have been able to make that decision. I still think that going from the shotgun was questionable looking at the placement of the ball on the one yd line, going by percentages only. But if you catch them looking for QB sneak or off tackle, that play works. Great D by Dixie. It just wasn't the Camels night, too many mistakes and turnovers but I still bleed Purple and I do believe! The big games are still ahead! Re-group and work hard boys and great job to Troy and his staff:thumb:

What happened was the Dixie fans threw a bottle at the Camel players and coaches and it landed on the field. I really was disappointed in that behavior and you are 100% correct it did effect your momentum.

It is a shame that fan activity caused a change in the momentum of the game. Was no one supervising the student section?

Great win Colonels, it was a little closer than I thought it would be, but we pulled it out just the same. No time to celebrate though, Ryle is next and they will be the toughest opponent yet. Keep up the good work BoyZ!:thumb:

If your coach came over and said something to the students, I am sure he will say something to the administration at school. Sounds like the coach is a stand up guy.

In our facility (Dixie's) we have police officers and faculty members who monitor the student section of both teams and stand directly in front of them and behind.

Good idea!! PC does it that way also.

Actually Sandman it was parents. The bright side is I know that not all Dixie parents act this way, people like you show us that. I also hope that since they were Freshman parents , they will figure out in the next few years just how "real" football parents behave at games.

Other than the distractions in the stands, I must say I was impressed with the Dixie frosh team and the coaches. That is a good group of kids.

He is the vice principal also, I am sure he will try and address the situation. I agree, he is a man of character for sure.

Great job this season by the way frosh!

Terible that some parents act that way. I've seen it at all sporting events over the years from tee ball to bball.

Dixie with nice win!, but it looks like they might be beat up alittle

I wish I would have gone to the game. Why in the world would the Dixie Coaching Staff come over to address the students? Where was the administration and security for the event? Sounds to me if the Dixie Coaches had time to address the students, then it was not as intense on the field as it was off.

Some pop bottles were thrown on the field by the Dixie student section, nearly hitting some of the Camel players and coaches. Dixie's coach came over and told them it was classless and they should be thrown out of the game if they found out who did it. I thought it was a good gesture by the Dixie coach. It was one heck of a high school football game, intense all the way.
