Elton John Announces Farewell " Goodbye Yellow Brick Road " Tour

Featured Replies

One of my all-time favorites, Reginald Kenneth Dwight, better known as Elton John, has announced that he will be retiring from touring after one last grand exit. Elton's career has spanned five decades. Elton announced earlier today that his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which will kick off in September 2018, will be a three-year, five continent outing that will feature more than 300 concerts. What a way for the "Rocket Man" to say goodbye!!! I saw my first Elton show in 1979 and I've seen a number of them since. He never disappoints. You'll have one last chance with this tour to see "Captain Fantastic" perform. Over his 50 year career, Elton has sold more than 300 million albums and had over 50 Top Forty hits, including seven consecutive #1 albums, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles( 9 #1's , 4 #2's , and 27 Top 10's).

The 70 year-old Hall of fame musician will play at Louisville's YUM Center on October 23 of this year and in Cincinnati's US Bank Arena on February 27, 2019.

Elton John retires from touring … with 3-date world tour | Music | The Guardian

“Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” was the first album I ever bought as a 14 year old in 1973.

And apparently my buddy and I were the first in the Greater Cincinnati area to purchase “Elton John’s Greatest Hits” in late 1974.

At least that’s what the clerk at the “Lemon Starship” in Covington told us. Lol!

I've seen him twice within the last 4 or so years. He still puts on a heck of a show.

I gotta see him one more time. Great show every time. IMO greatest songwriter of all time.

Maybe the one artist I’d love to see but never have.

And @Science Friction his name is Sir Elton John. LOL
