Cantrall ratings have Campbell County #1 in the state.

My 7000th posts was about Campbell County. What is wrong with me?????

Being a fan of the CCHS program, I believe that based on head to head results the top 3 are very accurate. Mercer has beaten both Sacred and CCHS. Feb 2nd will give us insight as to who is the #2 team as the Lady Camels will travel to play SHA.

:lol2:

Gonna try and make that game if possible! Should be a dandy.

Would have to give the edge to SHA though. 2 reasons -- the first and biggest reason is CC will be playing @ SHA. A-L-W-A-Y-S tough to get a win out of that place. Not saying that the officiating is bad either -- just a tough place to get a road win.

The 2nd reason is SHA's depth. My opinion is SHA has the deepest team in the state -- including Mercer. The schedule SHA has played this year has been pretty insane also. They are certainly battle tested.

CC will for sure give them all they want but in the end SHA will be just too much. Still amazes me that the Toller kid for SHA comes OFF THE BENCH! Crazy.

Okay, all you Camels ... I will be pulling for you guys so don't get in a twist. As you can tell, SHA for sure has my respect and know it is too early to predict title winners but won't surprise me if SHA is the last team standing in March.

When are the State brackets released? I know that the placement of the Regional winners are set prior to the beginning of the games at BB&T. It will be very interesting how the top 3 are separated -- Mercer County, SHA, & CCHS.

It won't even be remotely interesting. It's a blind draw where anything can happen. You can easily have any two of these teams playing in the first round.

Not many with major D1 offers coming off any bench.....

SHA has one signed D1 commit (Ciera Scott), D1 offers (Toller and Marshall), and signed NAIA commit Fitcher all coming in as key reserves. Probably all of the starting five all will play college basketball. Berger and Sivils have already signed to play at D1 schools. Sophomore Clemons and Junior Harris also have many schools recruiting them.

PTB -- that is pretty impressive. No offense to Campbell but that was my point -- major depth for any team to deal with! Perhaps more of the Lady Camels will get on some radars if they continue playing the way they have? As far as I know, only 2 kids from CC have signed w/D1 schools. Certain the Stapleton kid will play somewhere but not aware of where or what level that might be? Other than these 3 not certain what kids are being recruited? CC playing at very high level with considerably less recruited talent ... perhaps a number of schools out there are missing something!?! Go Camels!

I know CC is the real deal and can beat anyone at anytime. Doesn't matter how many potential college kids are on your team, you still have to play the game. We've all seen teams that should beat another team 8 out of 10 times, but lose when it counts. To win a State Championship takes teams with skilled players and some good luck. Looking forward to watching the Camels play the Valkyries at the beginning of February. Let's hope and pray all the kids stay healthy!

I agree SH has more high level depth, although Campbell is fairly deep as well.

Where I do think Campbell has the advantage is their top 3. I believe Campbell's top 3 are better overall than SH's top 3.

I think Campbell's top 3 put together are better than anyone's top 3. Will that be enough? We shall see.

Whoa! Feeling a bit confident are we Blueto!?! May have just a few schools in the top 7 or so that would (be very willing to) debate you on that one! LOL Oh well, nothing wrong with confidence though -- this is the reason why we play the game!

I really can't compare the top three of all the top teams because I don't get to see them play enough to make that kind of statement. There are only a few on BGP that have seen all of these girls play over the last few years during the season and in the summer to make that kind of judgment.

The top three schools and a few others all have really talented players on their squad and it will come down to which team executes their game plan, commits the least errors, and gets a little something called luck on their side that will determine who wins the sweet sixteen.

The upcoming game between CC and SHA only helps each team get better and help them towards their goal of winning a State Championship. Other than that, the game in early Feb means little. That happened to SHA last year when they beat Butler two weeks before the Sweet sixteen, then lost to them in the opening round.

First things first, I hope both teams have their sights on getting out of their region. Both teams are probably ranked first in their region, but they still have to win. Either team can be knocked off. We see it every year.

I'm looking forward to a game between two top level girls basketball teams instead of a blow out win by 30-50 points. Good luck to the Camels.
