#3 Campbell County vs. #1 Mercer County Predictions

This one should be a great game. Campbell is playing very well but this will be the best team they have played yet. I am a known Homer and will pick my Lady Camels to win by 3 in OT.

Mercer county is an Awsome team. This will be a tough one for the Camels. Number 1 against number 3. Should be a good one.

Think the nod has to be for Campbell based on the manner in which they are playing collectively. May not be much of an edge but a nod anyway. The Camels are just playing great team ball, have 3 exceptional players and are very well coached. So much for any pre-season drama re some senior players quitting. Kudo's to the remaining kids and the coaching staff!

 

Mercer, on the other hand, has some kids struggling a tad it would seem. The main 'elephant in the room' would be the Robins kid re her season thus far. She is an elite player headed for an elite college program via UL ... but her numbers thus far would certainly not suggest anything elite. At some point, unless there is an undisclosed injury issue no one is aware of, the real Robins UL bound player will arise at some time and likely sooner vs later. Will it be tonite? Who knows -- they are kids which makes all this great fun.

 

Bear in mind for comparison sake, Mercer beat a V-E-R-Y good SHA team with a NOT very good performance from Robins. She is an extremely talented and hard working kid with a terrific attitude. Should the Robins kid show up that most people know ... that nod could easily move the other way toward Mercer.

 

Again, it's December. No state titles decided this month ... Merry Christmas!!

Tonight will be the night that the rest of CC will need to step up if the Camels will keep rolling. Schwarber and Clos will be doing great if they can just equalize Souder and Robins. Even if CC's top two can outplay Mercer's top two... it won't be by much..... this game will be won by depth.

 

In another thread there was talk about other D1 caliber players on Campbell County.... tonight will be the night that is put to the test....

 

It's great to speculate, predict, and plan for further development of younger players... .but it's not a question of whether Mercer has more depth beyond Souder/Robins.... they do... and I think that will show tonight.....
