November 20, 20178 yr Thought it would be easier but congrats and best of luck next year. This wasn't a very good EKU team. I know they're young and have supposedly recruited well, so hopefully next year is better, but bottom line is they're not real competitive in a bad league. I think there needs to be a complete reevaluation of the entire athletic program.

Again, like I said about Morehead in the other thread, its EKU.

Again, like I said about Morehead in the other thread, its EKU. I wasn't specifically saying the coach (he's only in year two and deserves two more at least). I'm saying more at the very top and their entire athletic program. They've been awful in baseball and women's basketball for years. They did well with Neubauer in men's basketball then hired a Pitino-disciple for no reason other than his roundabout connection to Kentucky through Pitino and they've looked poorly prepared and disorganized every time I've seen them. Eastern isn't Morehead. They have scholarships in football for one thing. They apparently desire to move to high-level Division I, although no one seems to really want them. It seems like, as an athletic program, they've held on to their football national championships from 1979 and 1982 and how they used to succeed by recruiting in Florida when in reality almost everyone has passed them by and there seems to be no new ideas or excitement around any of their programs.
November 26, 20178 yr Not saying anything negative about the current staff but I was disappointed that my alma mater didn't give Steve Bird an opportunity to lead the Colonels forward when they were looking to hire.
