Round 3 Home Teams

I’m sure it has been explained here before but if 2 district winners advance to the 3rd round and play each other, which team is the home team?

Odd district teams host in odd years, even district teams host in even years.

Makes sense. Thanks.

So after the 2nd round, it’s not based on record or district standing but solely on which district you are in? So it’s possible that the 2nd place team from an “odd” district could host the 1st place team from an “even” district this year?

No that’s not possible because the seeds 1 and 2 seeds are in opposite brackets.

D-2 1 seed would host only if it playing a team from its own District or a lower seed from the other District which would be District 1 #3 seed.

Hope this makes sense

Let's assume that Trinity and SK advance on Friday. Trinity is in District 4 and SK is in District 6. Both are even # districts playing in an odd # year. Who hosts?

6A-R1 D2 vs. D1 D2 hosts if tied ** R1 hosts **

6A-R2 D4 vs. D6 D4 hosts if tied **

6A-R3 D3 vs. D5 D3 hosts if tied ** R3 hosts **

6A-R4 D8 vs. D7 D8 hosts if tied **

Trinity would host D4 Host if tied. The above is the cross bracket grid for 6a.

Trinity has to win the 2nd and 3rd round first.

Trinity has to win the 2nd and 3rd round first.

@MedicoreNachos asked a question.

“Assume Trinity and Sk both win in Round Two then who host since they are both from even districts 4 and 6”

The answer is Trinity would host since they are District 4 and SK is District 6.

Yes Trinity has to win to continue hosting.

In 6A the lower District has home field advantage aslong as they win.

d4 in region 2

D3 in region 3

I'm confused how this works. Next season, In 3A R3 you have D4 vs D6. Assume Belfry and Boyle win the districts, if they meet in the regional finals, where will that game be played?

I have not looked at next years cross bracketing info yet but I assume since this years says Odd districts/lower distrect districts host then next year would be Even Districts/Higher districts host but I am not sure. If you look at KHSAA site under playoff's the Grid tells you at the top of each column who would host.

You are correct. Just looked and in an even numbered year the higher numbered district gets the game at home. That would be Belfry in my scenario (D6).
