Apollo finished 7-3, losing to Daviess County 7-26.

Greenwood finished 3-7, losing to Hopkinsville 6-31.

Apollo has one of the best turn arounds in the state after last years 2-8 season where they didn’t make the playoffs. The Eagles will look to parlay that success into their first playoff win since 2005.

Greenwood’s down season comes off two straight 9-3 seasons. Can the Gators get it together in the playoffs for a 3rd straight first round win?

This is a good matchup for Apollo at home. They have been pretty good vs the run in the front 7 and Greenwood is nearly all run. Apollo moved the ball well last week in the loss to Daviess County, but couldn't do anything when they got into the red zone (5 trips inside the 15 with only 7 points to show). They are without one of the better WR's in KY in Peyton Peters and that really bothered them when they were forced to throw the ball down by the endzone. They will obviously need to find ways to score no matter how well the defense plays. I like their chances at home, but boy, I sure do wish they had #6 suiting up.

Peters is a big time receiver him and number 11 for Graves are the two best receivers in WKY.. Also I heard Apollo will be without one of their better skill players for getting toss out of the game last week. Pulling for Apollo but this definitely be a closer game now than it would have been 3 weeks ago..

Apollo, Is Peters done for the year? I hope not! I was looking forward to seeing him play in Week 2.

He's likely out for the season. I don't believe the collarbone is going to require surgery but it's a 4-5 week deal at minimum.

I believe the other player Apollo will be without is Brooks. Another big blow. I look for them to try to grind it out with McKenzie but they are going to need other guys to step up in the passing game if they are going to win.

PS: Don't forget about Marquel Tinsley at DC. IMO, he's the best WR in the state as a junior.

Apollo,

Thanks for the information but I am sad for the young man as that’s a pretty big blow. Sounds like this game is about even now. Will be interesting to follow.

OH I know about Tinsley! He’s a staple on my All West Team!

Noticed that Peters and Grant from Graves County were named the the Best of the Bluegrass team. Congrats and well deserved
