2006 Ashland Invitational

Featured Replies

Absolutely correct. goherd96. Many words can be used to describe Ashland but "stupid" is not among them. I would also disagree with stringer in that it is safe to say that there are no "great" teams in the AIT. There are a couple of decent teams but certainly no great ones. In this area of the country, it might be said that Huntington High School is a potentially "great" team but there are no others.

You mean we actually agree on something????? AMAZING...:D

Potentially?

If you go out on that limb any farther it might just break.

I think the first game starts at 2:30pm.
Thanks, I plan on attending, at least, the first day.

Madison Central vs. Manual

Boyd Co. vs. Highlands

Good match-ups here and how Manual will be, without Coach "Z" will be interesting to see.

Scooterbob sorry but Madison Central is a serious threat to win it all if they can make it out of the tough 11th region. Manual is always top-notch just cannot get by Ballard or Male in the seventh. Highlands is a power every year in the balanced 9th region and Franklin Co. has their entire roster back except for maybe one player. Knott Central has 4 starters back. Very tough AIT as it always is.

Franklin Co. has their entire roster back except for maybe one player.

Franklin County lost I believe 6 seniors.

Stinger, surely you know better. For starters, you might want to review FANOFTHE11th's post immediately above. Stinger may sting but, apparently, he can also spin.

I may have made a mistake about Franklin, will check into it. The others are no mistake. It was my impression that Franklin had most of it's returning players from last year. (not disputing they may have had 6 seniors) just that they did not play much, outside of one or two?

They started 5 seniors most of the year. They will have a difficult time inside this year as they lost their 4 and 5 who were both 3 year starters. They have a group of seniors this year that got significant varsity minutes last season. I think Franklin will compete well this season but rebounding may be a problem.

You are right on target with Madison Central. They have nearly everyone back from last season. I think they may have lost their point, but all the horses are back. They beat Scott County last year to win the 11th region and I cannot understand why they get so little respect. In another thread I don't think posters are listing them in pre-season top 25. I watched them play this summer and i think they are very good. Lex Cath beat them in double overtime in the Bluegrass Championship. Lex cath will be better this season than last, and I do not look for Scott County to have a cakewalk in the 11th.

Mark this post, Madison Central will be tough to handle.

I agree with Madison Central,:p and stand corrected on Franklin Co.
