Storied career? Whats storied about it? Has he ever actually won a big race? Not really he won the Coca Cola 600 but not any of the other big races or the title. I'm glad to see Mark Martin get out of the way and give someone else that ride that can get the most of it. You know he probably has the best equipment at Rouch and what does he do with it? Nothing. He runs around if he lets people go by him and takes what they leave him. He should have atleast 2 or 3 wins this season with that car.

 

:laugh: Lets see if it wasn't for Jeff Gordan having two unbelievable years in the 90's Martin would have won two Championships. I dont remember the year, but one of the years Martin seemed to be in the top 5 every race and would have won the title any other year, but that was the year Gordon won like 4 races in a row or something like that.

 

He is one of the reasons why Rouch racing has been successful, if he has not bee doing good you think so young driver would have came in and taken his spot by now. Also look at this year now he is only 10 points down I believe, but he doesn't do anything good....

 

I know I really never have like Martin, but I am rooting for him to win it this year, since he has came so close before and that this year is his last chance to probably win it...

Would of could of should of. But whats that get ya? 0 titles. Mark Martin should have multiple titles I agree.. But his driving style with that equipment has costed him wins. Mark is a really good driver. Just not a great driver.

The penalty that Nascar imposed on Mark a few years back was the 25-pt penalty for a gray area that others had been penalized for but only fined, and this ended up being more than enough pts. for him to have ended up with more than Dale had for that year. And I will agree that Mark's age has caught up to him, as does us all, but to be where he is now is a major feat not many will enjoy. And when he started with Roush, the equipment was inferior but they learned and improved, obviously. Anyone who thinks Martin is undeserving of a title is not a true Nascar fan. And he's not my favorite driver. :irked:

Hey man I'm a true NASCAR fan. Through thick and thin when Harvick struggles I still watch and did when Earnhardt ran bad I still watched. I just dont like Mark Martin.

LOL I think camping out in Bristol this past March is proof I'm a die hard NASCAR fan.

Well, it sounds like you'd still be a fan if Harvick and Earnhardt were struggling.....

I was a fan. Harvick was in a slump from 2002 to last year except for 03. And I still watched every lap.
