Johnson Central vs. Greenup County part 2

Featured Replies

All high schools play basketball games when there is school the next day. They play baseball games when there is school the next day. They play soccer games when there is school the next day. Middle schools and freshman teams play all of there games during the middle of the week. What would be the difference? It's not like you are traveling half way across the state to play, it's just a little more than an hour drive. As it was noted earlier JC obliged Greenup last year by playing on thursday night.

I realize everything that you mentioned in your post. A varsity football game would involved more students, and parents than any of the others sports mentioned, and maybe they didn't want that many kids being effected. I really have no idea why the Greenup Co. admin. elected not to play last night, maybe their Freshman team already had a game scheduled. When did Johnson Central ask Greenup Co. to move the game? Did they ask back in the summer, or was it just a recent request?

Does anyone know the reason that they requested the move to thursday???

The Apple Festival is going on in Paintsville and starts on friday.

Go Greenup County!

I don't know why the GC admin said no either. But, I'm pretty sure that the GC freshmen played Ashland's freshmen last night (Thursday) at Greenup.

I don't look for a high scoring affair. The field was extremely muddy last night and we got more rain so??? I can't wait to see Justin back on the field where he belongs.

How can you have a broken collar bone and pass on the field for the past 3 weeks and claim to start tonight.....whats up? Either no broken collar bone or no start.

I'm not really understanding your quote mac. Do you really think this kid or his coach would just sit him out for three weeks for the heck of it. This kid has a serious chance to play on the next level. I just don't see JC just benching him. If you want me to say that I saw an x-ray then I could perhaps help you out. Some people heal quicker than others. |I do think it healed very quickly but that is a great thing for him and the true fans of |Johnson Central.

Does a broken bone heal in 3 weeks when it isn't stabilized. I know for a fact this kid was on the field passing the ball for the past 3 weeks. It seems only good medical advice to let it completely heal for a good senior year and possibily college. Don't you think? Their coach has a winning streak going on now. Why would he risk another injury for the boy now?

I most certainly agree with you mac. I don't really know about healing time. I do know he is cleared to play. Jc is very happy to have him back. Do u think barring any more injuries that he has a chance at the next level? 6'5 qb's with good arm strength are very nice to have. If you know for a fact then we have probably seen each other. Hey tonight I will wear a yellow shirt and in black letters it will say cheese and maybe we can sit together. We'll be macaroni and cheese LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL just playing. Good talking with ya!

I bet they would have changed the date if JC would have gone to GC to play.

It does when it's your non-throwing shoulder.

And collarbone fractures are 3-4 week injuries.
