September 24, 20178 yr A distant 2? They've had 2 "bad" years with this year being one of those 2. Yes...I think everyone in the ACC is a good bit behind Clemson, including FSU. I don't see them close to Clemson's level on the field this year...in fact 2nd place may be generous this season.
September 24, 20178 yr The O-Line is bad. NC state has 8 seniors on D anchored by Chubb is a first round pick. They always cause fits for FSU. 2 weeks of no game and coming out trying to be perfect is hard. Tate going down hurt bad. This was a trap game regardless of who was at QB. At the end of the day, FSU will have a down year this year. No Jimbo isn't on the hot seat but trickett should have been 3 years ago.

FSU is still a great program but right now they are playing for at best 2nd in the ACC.
September 24, 20178 yr Tough, tough game to watch today. O-line play is atrocious. I know they have went up against 2 solid d-lines in Alabama and NC State but both teams did what they wanted. Looking at the remainder of the schedule, 7-4 would be a gift if they continue on this path. I know part of this can be blamed on the 21 day layoff from the hurricane, but bad play and injuries trump that.
September 25, 20178 yr Well NC State was tapped preseason to have a shot at the ACC Champ. That was not a bad team that FSU played. Their d-line is 2nd or 3rd best in the ACC. If they had not blown that game against South Carolina, they would now be a top 15 team. They outgained South Carolina I believe by a good margin in that game. Blackmon didn't play bad, check his numbers....what was shocking was the fact that the FSU defense had no answers for NC State's offense...that's what lost the game, it wasn't Blackmon.
