October 3, 200620 yr Good for him. Love him or hate him, you have to respect somebody doing something like this.
October 3, 200620 yr Again, whether we like him or not has nothing to do with his entrepreneurial quest......:thumb:
October 3, 200620 yr Where'd Christian Laettner get the money to buy a team? I KNOW he couldn't possibly have made that much in his NBA career... He was never very good, anyways. Must have a good bank, a nice loan, and a mighty fine interest rate. He's been in the NBA since 1992. And he was the 3rd overall draft pick. I'd say that's where a lot of his money came from...

What about Davis, I can't remember him playing at all...perhaps he did but sounds like he's done extremely well, to be able to have that kind of financing in place and include his portion, into $70mil.
October 3, 200620 yr FWIW, Laettner has 2 NCAA Championship Rings, A Naismith & Wooden Trophy & a gold medal from the '92 Olympics in Barcelona. To go along with that, he was named to the All-Rookie team in his 1st NBA season and in '97 he was an All-Star. In 2000, he donated $1 million to his high school... I'm not a Christian Laettner fan by any means, but (for the most part) he's what the NBA SHOULD be all about...

Any player that would make this type of financial contribution to their former high school, has some positive qualities....:thumb: In his 13+ season career, Laettner has earned approximately $61,485,000.Impressive numbers and perhaps, had excellent financial investors over the years. Do I recall hearing some financial problems with him, several years back?
