It's a testament to how much Florida State's defense has stepped up that this is a game at all still. Two INTs, a blocked punt, and a fumble on a kickoff have placed Alabama inside FSU territory the last four drives. Alabama has only managed 11 points off of those opportunities.

I don't know why he threw it to begin with he was clearly in bounds.

Fla. State's D has to be getting tired both mentally and physically the way their offense is getting dominated.

You need to wave your hand more than that.

I think the offensive line has done a serviceable job against the Bama front here. But when the special teams went to pieces on back to back drives, it put the offense so far behind the 8-ball that Alabama was able to pin their ears back more and come after Francois. And he hasn't remotely handled it well.

Alabama finally gets those last points that will likely make any comeback impossible. It's 24-7 now with just over 6 minutes remaining.

This game should have been played later in the season.

Last year he got beat on, and showed tremendous resolve. He's taken some shots tonight too, but he's had more time on a lot of throws, and neither of his INTs was pressure an issue. He simply tried to make plays that weren't there both times. Alabama's secondary made him pay each time. He's a very talented player, but he just simply hasn't elevated his level tonight.

 

Even so - the special teams is what lost this game for FSU and won it for Alabama. Bama has blocked a FG (-3), blocked a punt (+3), recovered a fumble on a kickoff that should have never been returned (+8), and added that last FG after Matthew Thomas failed to recognize a fair catch signal and set Alabama up inside the 40 (+3). That's 17 points right there. How much is Florida State losing by?

Better hope that's not a catastrophic injury for Francois. O-Line failed him on that one.

 

If that was something significant, it isn't one that looked nearly as ugly as some.
