August 22, 20179 yr I feel really bad that with all of the eclipse talk that I didn't take a minute to remember the comedic legend Jerry Lewis. Being raised by older parents who loved his comedy, I grew up loving him too. I honestly can't remember a time that I didn't know who he was. His goofiness gave me a license to be goofy too. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Jim Carrey for example, was highly influenced by him, as well as countless others. Strangely I said his name in conversation on Saturday night just to find out the next day that he had passed. That was weird because I can't remember the last time that I spoke of him. So many legends are gone now that make me think of my parents. It will be super weird when the day comes that I can't name one alive that meant something to them, but it's become a stretch already just to name a few. RIP Jerry. You were one of the greatest!
August 23, 20179 yr The Lewis MDA telethon was a must watch every year in our household. Martin and Lewis ... one of the best tandems ever.
August 23, 20179 yr Huge Jerry Lewis fan! I was so sorry to hear he'd passed and yet relieved that he was in pain no more. The man had lots of ailments from a bad heart to a very bad back. RIP Buddy Love! Thanks for the laughs!
August 25, 20179 yr Howard Stern did an obituary for Jerry on his radio show. Let's just say that Howard focused on the nasty things. There were quite a lot of clips played that did not paint Jerry in a good light.
