In a week filled with strong performances in class 2A, perhaps no one looked more impressive than Mayfield. The Cardinals dismantled highly regarded Tennessee power Union City, 41-0.

 

Hopkinsville on the other hand, would like nothing more than to hand the Cards a loss to help erase the bad taste in their mouths after a three touchdown defeat to South Warren.

 

This is the first meeting between these two programs since 2006.

I'm guessing that Mayfield wins by 2-3 scores.

If Mayfield plays anywhere close to what it did this week, they'll win going away.. Hoptown has some athletes and speed to match up, but, not sure they can execute as well as the Cardinals do on both sides of the ball.. It'll be a little closer than this weeks game, but, I'll take Mayfield by 28...

It is part of a double header, I believe. If the game before goes long then the kickoff could be later.

 

This reminds me of a terrible experience I had once at Trigg County. The opening game was Male/Hoptown in a classic game (2002 maybe), but both teams passed the ball to no end. There may have also been a heat delay to start the game. The second game was Trigg/Calloway and it was super late before it got started. I am thinking 9:30 or 10:00.
