It's funny to me that the poster that started this thread is the same poster that called the Cantralls "a complete joke" last season. I suppose his view of them has to do with where his team is ranked.

Did you ever here me say that I agree with Cantrell's system? I did get on the Lexington Herald website to see where my team was ranked, as most would do, and decided to post it on here for everyone to look at. His rankings always seem to make for good debate. I still dont put to much into these "power rankings" as they are called cause i see many flaws of teams that win head to head matchups under the teams they beat. I still dont understand his rankings but I am pleased to see my JC program getting some statewide respect.

Lincoln County has been impressive this season, but you have to admit their opponents have been lacking. Remember, they've beaten Garrard County (1-5), Whitley County (1-5) and South Laurel (2-4). They're primed to pick up a win over a weak McCreary Central team this Friday. They do have a win over Rockcastle County, although at this point the Rockets aren't the type of team they usually are.

I know you can only play who is on your schedule, but you have to be realistic when comparing yourself against other schools. Keep in mind that while Lincoln has played well, they are a Class AAAA school. I'm not sure if they could even qualify for the playoffs in District 4 (Male, PRP, X, Manual), District 5 (Trinity, etc.) or District 7 (Lexington). They might even struggle in District 6.

This doesn't mean Lincoln doesn't have a nice team. It just means that Class AAAA football in Kentucky is pretty strong. Don't let the #34 ranking upset you.

I really dont care what much for Cantrells ratings because they are always bias towards the Lexington teams, and are based alot on "team name". With that said I want to point out something about the opponents lacking part of your post. Madison Central has played West Jessamine 1-4 Tates Creek 5-0 Montomery Co 1-4 Whitley Co. 1-5. They have a 3-2 record with a loss to the only team thay they have played so far that has a winning record, and a loss to a 1-4 team. They are rated 16th in 4A

Rockcastle Co has a 4-1 record. They have played Corbin 2-4,Bourbon Co. 0-5,Harrison Co. 2-3, Lincoln Co. 4-1, and Letcher Co. 2-4. They also have a loss to the only team they have played so far that has a winning record,Lincoln Co. Cantrell has them rated 12th in 3A. With all of this said I dont think your points about strength of opponents holds water.

The kids at Lincoln understand that the only way to get a little respect is to keep winning, I do believe that maybe by playoffs they will have earned some from those who like to overlook them or worse belittle them.

Thanks Rambler! I sure am glad to see that someone is giving Bath just a little bit of credit. I realize the loss to LCA did not help Bath. Although the game was somewhat closer than the final score reflected. I just cannot make myself believe that there are 20, let alone 33 class A teams better that Bath County this year. Maybe we can gain some respect with a good effort at Paris. Good luck Rams the rest of the way. It must be nice to have a bye before the trip to Owingsville!! ;)

:thumb: No problem BC CAT, I wouldn't had stated that in my post if I didn't believe it. As for nice having the week off it will help in healing some bumps and bruises and the like but I don't know how much of an advantage it will give us if any. Raceland knows what kind oif a team that Bath has and it imo is going to be a battle regardless of the bye week this Friday.
