I have to ask. Is the purpose of this thread to magnify our favorite songs/artists or to point out certain songs that certain artists do well live? In many cases, I think that certain songs come across better live, and some songs don't come across well in a live setting.

It's all up to you. I thought it would be interesting to try and boil down to just 12 artists and only allow one song...really have to think what you would want to see, if people would mix up musical genres or keep them consistent across the board. I haven't posted mine yet, but they will all be rock related.

I am in a similar boat with Jim Schue. Might give it a shot later, but.....not sure I could do justice to my thoughts.

That's why I said I'd probably have a different lineup next week.

Just like you I've been going back and forth thinking stuff like... "Just because I really like a song does it mean that I'm desperate to hear it live, or would it make me experience it any better"?... while other good tunes just become even more magical to experience when heard live.

Tons of my favorite songs have been entering my mind, some of which I have already experienced live, and the memory is good enough to sustain me forever, while others it would be great to relive, and still others feel like bucket list tunes that I fantasize about experiencing live, or some the window of opportunity has already closed, but If only I could have.

I'm now up to nearly 60 tunes that I'm considering, and I'm sure that I could come up with 60 more, so the task of whittling them down to 12 has my OCD working overtime as if my final answer is something so important that I will have to settle on as if my life depended on it, or that there were only 12 perfect choices for me, and that there are no take backs.

Anyways...

Here's my attempt at giving a final list of 12 that I can live with (though of course I'm second guessing many others)... but here goes in no particular order...

Queensryche - Take Hold Of The Flame

CSN - Suite: Judy Blue Eyes

Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child (Slight Return)

Nazareth - Love Hurts

Accept - Fight It Back

Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

Snow Patrol - Run

Yes - Awaken

Midnight Oil - Beds Are Burnin'

Strand of Oaks - JM

16 Horsepower - For Heaven's Sake

Murray Head - Heaven On Their Minds
