oldrambler
First of all, Congrats to Boyd on the win, the better team won. Good luck the rest of the way. As for Raceland, it was the same :deadhorse: story ....Errors. Giving any team extra outs in innings is the quickest route to a loss that I know of. Raceland was a very young team, only a couple of Seniors I believe. . Their record was 17 / 16 , highlighted by a Win over rival and District favorite, one of the Region favorites .. Greenup Co. in the district tourney. I believe that the future for Raceland baseballl looks great. So, Congrats to 1st yr. coach M. Mills on a winning record and to Soph. Hunter Lacks on a team leading .440 batting avg.. Lacks also led in HR's I believe, with 7.

It looks like baseball's his true calling, though. Heck of a player.

oldrambler
He's got a very bright future ahead of him. H e's also a good football player, when healthy. It looks like baseball's his true calling, though. Heck of a player. Yes, Hunter is an incredible athlete but has been injured in football in the past couple of years. One former Asst. football coach at Raceland told me that as good as Lacks is in baseball, that he thought that he was as good or better football player. Also I do agree that imo is that his future is in baseball, I personally think that Hunter could be a legit D1 baseball player. As only a Soph., he has received interest from several schools that has noticed him at different camps / summer ball tourneys, etc.. Also, aside from the team leading batting avg. and HR's, Lacks also led in RBI's, Runs. Is the soph. the son of Mike Lacks by chance? Yes he is and also a great nephew of Keith Lacks, who many of us old guys consider one of if not the best hitters to ever play at Raceland. With a sr. year avg. of .575 and 4 year avg. of right around .500, Hunter has some marks / records to shoot for.
