Is this before or after Erdogan declared him persona non grata? The Turkish government situation is ridiculous. I can't believe such a longtime stable Islamic state has allowed itself to get to this point.

Yep. And he's luck that he is too high profile for them to execute like they did so many in the military. It was a real Stalinesque approach that their President pulled.
