100 Days ... Why the hype?

I really don't understand the huge focus on the first 100 days. When did this become a thing? I don't remember there being so much focus on the first 100 days and scorecarding it in the past. Personally, I just want things done and done right. I would rather something be done right on day 200 than getting something done in the first 100 days.

FDR. He set the precedent for the first 100 days.

FDR was the last President to be inaugurated on March 4, so he had 4 months to put together programs he wanted created. I dislike the expectation that everything to be accomplished in the first 100 days. Maybe we should have elections every 4 months.

Not to mention the country was in the midst of the Great Depression, many parts of the New Deal were installed during what is known as "the Hundred Days."
