Obviously it depends on the make up of the entire team. If you have tremendous speed, but the pilsbury dough boys blocking, you won't go far.

 

If you put physical a team, you might not have the ability to strike fast when needed.

 

Ultimately, speed at the high school level has got to be the more important. Having a back or skill position with real break away speed gives you a monsterous advantage in high school. There is a big difference between fast and FAST.

I think speed is the more lethal asset but I prefer to watch a physical game. Pitch and catch, like we sometimes see in the NFL, isn't fun to me.
