Nurses who work with children are pretty good at doing this without traumatizing a child. I doubt he was violently held down and brutally forced.

It's more invasive, but it usually takes 2-3 days to get back. A urine sample is a lot quicker.

Yeah, those 3 year old kids need to learn some respect for the law. Sexually assaulting them should teach them.

Seems like the complaint should be with state representatives...they have the power to change the law. In the case of the 3 year old boy it looks like it was the State Department of Social Services that ordered it, not the police. Police routinely go with Social Services on calls due to the large amount of violence directed at Social Services over the years, but Social Services is the one calling the shots not the police in those situations.

I hate that it happened to a 3 year old but guess what, a 3 year old is going to be upset (I tried a slang euphemism for angry but it set off the word filter) that it's happening to him regardless. For him it's forced no matter who decides to do it. Even the best parents "force" 3 year olds to have things done to them by medical professionals that if given a choice I'm sure the 3 year old would refuse.

 

If there are legitimate worries that the child could have ingested toxic substances I see no problem as long as legal measures were followed to compel the collection and a pediatrics qualified medical professional did it. There are other ways to get a urine sample from a toddler but if there is a question of if the parents are negligent they won't be compliant and those collection methods can take hours for nature to take effect. They simply couldn't be trusted not to remove a collection bag unless they remain under observation the entire time the child is wearing it. Would the child be more or less traumatized being cathed which takes minutes or basically being held in custody, perhaps for hours, waiting for him to pee?
