What does Hazard need to do to improve in 2017? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Hazard needs to have luck in their side and keep everyone healthy. The lose 4 on offense and 3 on defense. Hazard only loses 1 skill kid and the rest are lineman. Luckily hazard had a 8-9 man rotation on the line and lots of kids got time and experience. Defense will still be good as that's. What most of injuries occurred on last season besides the QB being banged up. Must replace nose, linebacker and corner on defense. They have some solid kid who will fill the void. Hazard in my opinion will be the favorite out of the east but there are several teams who could knock them out... I will admit they suprised me last year with the win over Paintsville. i do expect if Hazard makes it back you will see a balanced attack instead of just run...

Hazards Cory Smith will enter his senior season with a total of 4,758 yards and 56 touchdowns rushing ( this is rushing stats only). 244 yards and 1 touchdown came at Perry Central his Freshmen year. If you don't count those stats he would like 845 yards to break Brandon Jones rushing record at Hazard and he was a bowling ball. He would also like 18 touchdowns to break the Jones Touchdown mark as well.

I will be VERY, VERY surprised if we dont see Hazard vs. Beechwood Round 2

A 5-9 170 pound QB, who threw for 2,327 and two big lineman in Austin Smith 6-0-280 and McKenzie Caudill 6-3 320 pounds, the passing game should fair better than good again this season. Throw in 5-8-235 pound lineman,Bryce Spencer and the line gets even stronger.

Hazard will play a 9 game schedule!!!

Looking at their schedule it has several 5A opponents from its cross town rivals district as they will face everyone. North Laurel in a scrimmage on August 10th, then the next two after the Belfry scrimmage against Harlan a County and Letcher Central. They will finish the regular season with a trip to Whitley County. But they will also have Somerset and Leslie County as well. But many people will be keeping an eye out on the Paintsville game in early October.

Somerset plays Beechwood and Hazard back to back. It will be interesting to compare how those two games go.
