chewmehum
playlikeachampion.nd.edu. It is a program thru the University of Notre Dame for coaches, player and parents. I quote "promote an inclusive, developmentally-oriented youth sports culture. It does this primarily by educating ethically responsible sport leaders , coaches, parents, athletic administrators and athletes - who in turn will reach millions of young people. Isn't that the goal of every youth program? I would think they are already promoting that.
chewmehum
Yes, it should be! It will be implemented next school year and require coaches to attend classes. Like everything today, what Coaches do everyday to promote those goals, somebody has to make into an organized class with guidelines or policies. Like the Diocese did with dead period, extending it a week for students to spend more time with families. I hope this program could help with extremes that some programs go to with out hurting the ability to compete.
tcjkbt
Sounds like the SportsLeader program that was started in Louisville some years ago by a Catholic grade school football coach. SportsLeader might be more Catholic-oriented though.
ATLCat
Not sure I would use Notre Dame as the shining example of "playing like a Champion" in recent years
neilman1234
Not sure I would use Notre Dame as the shining example of "playing like a Champion" in recent years I agree 100%. While this program may teach good values, etc., this has to be a huge money maker for the university.
