March 2, 20179 yr I didn't see the speech so.. From reading comments on social media the President seems to be getting a lot of credit for simply not being like he usually is in his off-the-cuff remarks. Seems like a low bar for grading. I also do get a chuckle that NOW a speech is indicative of something. A WH source told a reporter (@costareports) they are shocked at the positive reaction by pundits because he "has not changed" and "no big shift in policy." Gets back to my "low bar" comment. The same poll cited said that 57% of those who actually tuned in had a "very positive reaction to the speech." For comparison, the number was 66% for President Bush and 68% for President Obama. If you like his proposed policies you liked the speech. If you do not like his proposed policies you didn't hear any changes in those policies.

We all know that high poll numbers are all important in this country and a true indicator of the will of the people. Especially poll numbers for surveys conducted or paid for by such respected news organizations as CNN, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and other Trump adversaries. :lol2:

March 2, 20179 yr The President will not send you your sucker if you fail to say "failing New York Times."It is enough reward for me to know that I am not a sucker for the liberal political propaganda to which so many of my fellow Americans have fallen victim.

I am a moderate who when I did the pre election polls survey's ect, found myself agreeing with Trump's policies about 80% of the time. However, I didn't vote for him (voted 3rd party) because of his attitude and demeanor. With that said, if he acts and talks more like he did during the speech, I will begin to fully support him...it's just hard to support his actions sometimes. IMO Trump is bringing some common sense to the position, and Tuesday night showed more compassion towards issues than he has before. Hopefully this makes him successful.

This was my exact position also, but I went ahead and voted for Trump for a few reasons( one was some posters on here drove me to defend him ). I agree with everything you said.
