Mustangs just keep getting better! Mike Code getting the most out of this young bunch

I almost went to this game. I opted for a workout instead. Sounds like it was a good one at Scheben gym tonight.

As Vito stated the Mustangs are definitely playing our best ball here at the end of the regular season.

 

The Mustangs played even up with the home-standing Juggernauts throughout the first half, trailing merely 30-27 at intermission. We rallied to take the lead at 37-36 for the first time in the game at the 4:15 mark of the third quarter, before the Juggs outscored the visitors 7-2 to close out the third period 43-39.

Lloyd threatened to blow it open by pushing out to a 50-41 lead four minutes out.

The Mustangs responded by battling back to 53-49 with one minute to play when it got interesting. Bryce Kremer found himself open at the top of the key and knocked home a 3-point goal, bringing the Mustangs to within 53-52. A pair of made free-throws by 90% shooter Devin McClendon gave the Juggs a three point lead with 20 seconds to play. When Mustang senior Bryce Kremer hit his third three pointer of the night with 11.4 to play in the game we were tied at 55-55. Following a Coach Mike Key time-out, the Juggs rushed the ball up the sideline, feeding the blue-chipper Sterling Hamilton to hit a drop step hoop to win the game for the Juggernauts, giving them their 19th game of the season, with one remaining to be played against Trimble County on Friday night in Erlanger.

 

Lloyds's Senior Steriing Hamilton led all scorers with 24 points, with 17 of those coming in the second half. Isiah Voet added 10. The Mustangs had three double-figure scorers - Bryce Donnelly with 13, Aaron Bell 12, and Bryce Kremer with 11.

 

The Mustangs will await the Scott Eagles in the 37th District semi-finals next Wednesday night at 7:30pm at the Campbell County Middle School.

Been watching the progress of Brossart over the course of the year. They are a much improved team with a great coach getting the most out of the team.

First time I've seen Lloyd this year. They are a very nice team. I saw 6 senior banners hanging and Sterling Hamilton is a super smooth player. I hadn't heard much about him, but he is athletic and fun to watch. Very quiet style but just gets it done.

Referencing my earlier post - It was Bryce Donnelly who hit the first 3-pointer from the top of the key under a minute and Bryce Kremer who hit the second.

 

Too many Bryces, Brysons and Bryans for this old man to keep track of.
