January 4, 20179 yr I could type 2 pages of who beat who to show that OSU or Michigan or Wisconsin or Penn St shouldn't be in the top ten. Doesn't mean it would be a good argument. And who in the hell said anything about OSU not being a top 20 team. Your entire argument for OSU is the win over OU. That's it, that's all you got. Seriously go look at the 11-20 break down you made. And Michigan and Wisconsin. But those games don't matter because Michigan and Wisconsin were garbage right? You said they were top 10 by default, but they were interchangeable with about 10 other teams right? So I was trying to find those 10 other teams that could potentially be interchangeable with OSU I figured those teams couldn't be outside of the top 20 so I looked at every team 11-20 and found 1 team. The looked at the rest of the top 10 and found 4. 5 total teams better than OSU, and the rest are clearly not interchangeable with OSU for the reasons I laid out in my post. Whether that be the win over OU or not. You can't realistically change out a 3 or 4 loss team with no top 10 wins over a 2 loss team with 3 top 10 wins. That's not interchangable. The only team that could be truly interchangable with Ohio State would be Washington. If you want to claim Washington as a victory for your argument then go ahead. You still to find 9 other teams not named Alabama, Clemson, Penn State, USC, or FSU. Good luck.

My original statement was in regards to Michigan, Wisconsin and OSU not being top ten. I then said they are probably interchangable with 10 other teams. It probably isn't that many but it sure as hell wasn't an exact number. You said earlier college football is down this year. I'd argue that it's not down as much as the top 15 or 20 are all closer than most seasons. USC has 3 losses yet I would put them top 5. Colorado has 3 losses yet I would put them closer to 20. How did Louisville almost beat Clemson (and probably should have), destroy FSU yet lose to UK and get creamed by LSU? FSU beats the high and mighty Michigan yet has 3 losses. OU gets beat down by OSU early in the year but by all accounts looks like a better team now.

But everything you said is more proof that college football is down IMO. No way to prove if I'm right or your right. But to me college football is up when there are a bunch of really good teams. When each conference has 3 or 4 really good teams. This year the SEC has 1. The ACC had 2 throughout the year but the 2nd teams switched from UofL to FSU about 4 weeks left in the season they were never both really good at the same time, The B1G had 4 really good teams IMO but we just had that conversation so I digress. The Big 12 had 1 really good team. The PAC 12 had 2. Maybe the situation I'm talking about is impossible, but we are further away from this than we have been in recent years.
January 6, 20179 yr I rooted against all of them too. Sadly OSU didn't do me any favors. But this is exactly what I'm talking about? Do you really care that Indiana and Maryland lost? I understand you caring about Michigan being a Michigan dude and thinking Penn State should have been in over OSU, but I'll still never understand the conference talk. You think Ohio State cares if the rest of their conference makes a bowl game, or Bama, or Clemson, or any other great team? No. So why do you all get so caught up in it? Agreed. As a FSU fan I want Clemson and Miami to get smoked every game! I care about FSU not the ACC.
