truebluefan89 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Long-time Paducah Tilghman radio host Ed Taylor lost his life in a tragic accident tonight. Ed has done PT football, basketball, and baseball; as well as American Legion and the Paducah Chiefs baseball for a long time. Ed never worked a day at it, he did it because he loved it. RIP old buddy.

Purple88 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 So sorry to hear this. My sincere prayers go out to his family and PT community.
broadcaster240 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 I first met Ed when he was helping Larry Clisby broadcast Paducah Community College Indians basketball and I was at Three Rivers C.C. in Poplar Bluff, MO. Both of our teams made the national tournament that year (1973.) Later our paths crossed many times on the high school circuit when Paducah Tilghman would play Madisonville...and at the state tournaments. Always friendly. Always with a smile on his face. Always interested in how you were doing. It was good to know you, Ed. As a post-script, Larry Clisby has been broadcasting Purdue basketball for the last 34 years.
theguru Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Story:West Kentucky Star - News From the article: McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden says deputies responded at 5:34 pm to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 5000 block of Reidland Road. Hayden says the investigation revealed 41-year-old Kasi Greenwell of Paducah was eastbound on Reidland Road just as 76-year-old William (Ed) Taylor was walking across the roadway, presumably to retrieve his mail. The vehicle struck Taylor in the right lane of Reidland Road. Several people reportedly stopped to render aid and perform CPR on Taylor, but he died at the scene. Greenwell was taken to Lourdes Hospital by Mercy Regional EMS for treatment of her injuries. Hayden says drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
