swamprat Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 The Bulls were up 39-21 with 7:06 to go in the 3rd quarter. Then USF got conservative, something Taggart never did. The defense, who had played reasonably well up to that point, decided to take a nap as they have late in games all season. USF proceeded to let SC back in it. On the first play in OT, Quinton Flowers scrambled around and found Elkanah Dillon in the end zone to give USF the lead. The defense came through at the end. Jake Bentley fumbled as he was being sacked by Mike Love on 4th and 6 from the USF 8 to end Carolina's OT possession and the game. Should have never gotten to that point. If Flowers comes back next year, the Bulls will score a ton of points, especially if Chris Barr can get his act together, but Charlie Strong has to do something about that D if they plan on making any noise in the playoff polls. Note on Chris Barr. The kid is fast as greased lightning, but his football IQ is somewhat lacking. I got that from Willie, himself, when I was asking him about Barr at the Bulls Rally last year. 11 wins. School record.
mcpapa Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 What on earth was the thinking on the onside kick? Another SEC squad bites the dust.
