Just looking for some thoughts and opinions..still can't look past Powell or Lee in the 56th..with the likes of Hazard, PCC, and JBS

I think it will be possible. This region will be wide open again with JBS as the pre-season favotite. I think Powell should be a pre-season top 5 team.

They have a very good team coming back, didn't lose much and will be a nice team come tournament time! Coach Lively will do a great job with these guys and they will be ready to play each and every game!

Powell County will have a very good team this year because they return everyone and have something like 11 seniors, but they may not be the best team in the 56th, much less the 14th. Lee County should be the favorite in the 56th (if they can replace their center), but both teams should be in the top 5 or 6 in the region.

As far as the 14th is concerned, I think everyone will be chasing June Buchanan all year.

Ryan Romans will be one of, if not the, toughest match-ups in the region this year. With their good shooters around him, they will be a handful and should be considered one of the front runners.

um im how many words?? NO.....way too many seniors....if they do make a run what kind of expierence they going to have next year? not a good situation...some of them thats not going to get to play should have been cut

I agree, too many seniors; not much for building the program and developing younger players. I would bet the "ranch" that the season will not end with the same number of seniors that they start the season with. I've never seen a team go 12 deep and get enough playing time to keep everyone happy.

The post was asking, what are Powell's chances for this year...not for years down the road. Building a team is one thing, having a good season one year is another. I've seen teams go 8, 9, 10 deep with seniors and it worked out fine for those teams. 12 will be interesting to watch this season, im not sure of the outcome, it could go one way or the other. Another senior based team in the district is Lee co. with the likes of 7 (Fetters, Johnson, Brandenburg, Taulbee, Justin and Dustin Liesagang, and another. I believe if Lee co. had 12 seniors with equal talent that they all would play. IMO

I'm still waiting to see a team, any team, with 12 players with equal talent. That doesn't happen in the real world.
