It wasn't that close.

Was very close to a running clock on several occasions. Guess in a few weeks we will see if we have gotten any better or still pretty bad. January 24th we shall see.

I predicted 85-62 when I walked out at the end of the 3rd haha.

 

Boyle didn't handle the full court pressure very well at all in the first quarter then it was just back and forth pretty much from there. Was a 30-point lead for most of the game.

My general thoughts on the night...Lincoln County is probably a tad better than I was expecting. Mercer County is starting to play Kurt Young basketball. If they keep improving, they are going to be a problem in the 12th Region. Boyle county is young but the future is bright. Baby J is going to be a star.

If Mercer wanted to continue their "real press", Boyle may not have ever gotten the ball over half court. 9 assist to 17 turnovers......and that was a good nite for the Rebels.

 

This is about what I expected for December. Hopefully the Rebels will get better before district time.

Mercer County's system is a lot of fun to watch. They get up and down the court, intense full court pressure defense, they use their defense as their offense and they are aggressive to the ball as a team. They make you work hard on every possession. Once they really get this system under their belts, I agree, they will be a problem.
