Some D2 programs are comparable if not better than D1 programs. People throw "D1" around all the time. But that could be UCONN or it could be Murray State (no disrespect intended). It is just a huge gap to throw a blanket "D1" on all of them. Locally (women's basketball):

My point is who cares what number comes after the D. As long as the kids have a chance to play at the next level (and possibly save mom and dad some college money), that is what should matter.

 

Agree 100%. If your child gets a chance to play at a good D2 vs a Low D1, then pick D2. Better teams and coaches for the most part. The good D2 teams would beat most low level D1 teams, including almost every OVC team in Kentucky.

Morehead State 2015-16 Record: 10-20

EKU 2015-16 Record: 18-12 with 4 of those wins vs NAIA or D3 teams so its misleading

Murray State 2015-16 Record: 12-17 with 2 of those wins over NAIA teams.

 

All those coaches either are or will be on the hot seat soon. I would fire them today. Go look at the rosters. We have much much better kids in Kentucky that go out of state every year and thats a proven fact.

Totally agree JJ, and they look lost at all of the EYBL events, they just seem to fade into the background. In Atlanta this summer I wondered the exact same thing, why in the world are these kids getting out of our state, and I like 2 of those coaches alot. I aksed one this summer, and he was watching the Epps Ky Premier team, I asked about some of the kids on the EYBL team and his comment was we can not get that kind of player?
