Took a couple days to get over the sting of losing and watching kids like Hendrix and Roksvag, among others leaving the Cooper program. This game could and should have been closer, but Cooper just did not execute when they needed to. Credit Ryle for making the plays! It was 21-7 and Cooper dropped a wide open pass in the endzone at the end of the first half that could have possibly changed the complexion of the game after halftime, but who knows. Ryle was the more talented team overall and for Cooper to win they needed to play just as well on O as they did the first meeting and even better defensively. Neither of those things happened Friday night. Ryle was able to capitalize on Cooper mistakes and that is the difference in the ball game. Congrats to Ryle on the win and good luck against Scott County Friday night. This Cooper fan will be watching for sure.

 

Congrats to Cooper on an overall successful season. Didn't end how we wanted but last year's seniors was a special group and losing all but 2-3 starters on each side of the ball is a tall task to replace. These kids did a tremendous job of doing so. The future looks bright for the Jags with a talented freshman class and a talented 8th grade team coming in next year. Time to get back to work and get ready for next season!

Congrats to Cooper seniors on a successful season and career. That last loss always stings for a bit. It was a hard-hitting contest and enjoyable to watch the competition.
