November 3, 20169 yr He told the truth. Whether he was effective or not he is the last president to tell you that government can't fix it. I believe Kennedy was the other before Reagan to say it. The rest think government is the answer. Would you rather hear quotes from presidents and people who have never been proud of their country, Who grew the debt by more than all the presidents before them combined? You do realize Reagan grew the debt by roughly $1.5 trillion (some sources show it as high as almost $2 trillion), which is more than any other president in history, outside of our last two.
November 3, 20169 yr Author You do realize Reagan grew the debt by roughly $1.5 trillion (some sources show it as high as almost $2 trillion), which is more than any other president in history, outside of our last two. Last president has left over 6 trillion in debt.
November 3, 20169 yr Last president has left over 6 trillion in debt. Yes...I did mention in my post the last two presidents added more to the debt than Reagan. Just pointing out if debt is your measurement to greatness and who we should and shouldn't quote, We probably shouldn't be quoting Ronnie either.
November 3, 20169 yr Author He built our military back up during the cold war. It was necessary to outpace the Russians. They were on a pace to outgrow us and were considered a threat. It worked, we bankrupted their war machine.

So, as long as one "says it", but doesn't really follow through and commit themselves to policies and actions that "do it"; I guess it's okay??
November 3, 20169 yr Author So, as long as one "says it", but doesn't really follow through and commit themselves to policies and actions that "do it"; I guess it's okay?? Really? I'd take a thousand Reagans over the last 8 years.
November 3, 20169 yr Really? I'd take a thousand Reagans over the last 8 years. I didn't know that was an option. If so, count me in.
November 3, 20169 yr We can all dream. Lewis Black advocated re electing Ronnie 10 years ago because a dead Reagan would be even scarier than a live one to our enemies.
November 3, 20169 yr Author Lewis Black advocated re electing Ronnie 10 years ago because a dead Reagan would be even scarier than a live one to our enemies. At least he can still vote.....
November 4, 20169 yr I lived Reagan. Our country was embarrassed and a laughingstock to the world. Carter was a good man but a bad president. Reagan made us the world superpower again, if by nothing else, than by talk. We have rode his coattails for awhile. Clinton is a corrupt carter. Incompetent and immoral.
November 4, 20169 yr I love kennedy's quote, ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country - that thought process has been gone for a good while. Most people feel entitled that our country owes them a certain standard of living. BS. Our country owes us the Freedom to make good choices, let the chips fall where they lay.
