Henry County lost a legend in the passing of Roy Winchester. Roy loved basketball as much as anyone I have ever met. Did a lot for Henry County and the kids in that community. When one of most iconic gym's has your name on in it, pretty special. Will miss seeing him up on the stage in his spot. You will be missed old buddy.

Very sad to hear that. He did a lot for the 8th region.

When I first heard the news I thought of him sitting on the stage. He officiated when I played in the mid 70's. He will be missed.

RIP Mr. Winchester. Thank you for everything you have done in the region!!

I had no idea the namesakes was alive.

If I am not mistaken he may hold the record for state tournament appearances as an official.
