If that is someones argument, that it's not about the best player in the country, I'm fine with that. If their argument is that he's not the best player in the country, they're going to have to prove who is better.

But my argument that he can't win it from here is that he doesn't have the stage to make a heisman moment. Lamar has climbed to the top of the mountain. He can't go any higher. But there can certainly be someone who also climbs to the top and knocks him off the mountain.
October 19, 20169 yr Author I'm not taking anything for granted. Like I've already told you before, he doesn't have to put up 5-8 touchdowns anymore to stay ahead of the field. The margin is so big, if he has 2-3 a game, he's still going to finish with better stats than EVERY other candidate. He absolutely can do more to win it, that's a ridiculous notion. It's his award for now. It's up to the others to take it. Even with "average" numbers, he wins the award, IF it's truly about the best player in the country. I don't think he wins it if he has average numbers.

But acting like Jackson has to score 8 touchdowns a game the rest of the season to win is just silly. He's the best player in the country with the most impressive stats already, and he's only going to build on that. I will say, with the gap as big as it is right now, if someone catches him and legitimately beats him out, they will have 100% earned it.

What you have to realize is most of the heisman voters aren't watching Louisville games unless it is a Friday or Thursday night game and those games don't get great ratings going up against the NFL. But they are all going to watch Clemson/ FSU, Ohio State/ Michigan, and the conference championship game that Louisville probably isn't going to be in.

Louisville's game Saturday against NC State got picked up by ABC, so, not really sure your theory is correct. As long as Jackson is playing, people are going to be watching.

The last time an Ohio State player won the Heisman it didn't exactly work out too great for me.
