Bowling Green 22 John Hardin 8 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

Fine, crisp Fall night at Bulldog Stadium!

After a 3 and out from BG, John Hardin took over with effective run plays finished with about a 50 yard counter run by #6 for John Hardin, who was a terrific athlete. I looked online for a John Frosh roster but couldn't find one. IMO he was Johns best player. Although QB #11 has potential and was very impressed with linemen #63 and #53. If I were a Bulldog fan I would be proud and encouraged with this group.

That was Johns first offensive possession. BG regrouped and made adjustments and even though John did cross midfield a couple more times, wasn't able to punch it in.

For BG, on offense, the offensive line got beat early but rallied to play well as John DLine is likely their best group. Ja'vion Collins (bowling ball), Dre Boyd (WR turned RB) and Evan Spader (best and athlete on team) combined to keep the John D off balance and produce 3 TDs with 2 2pt conversions. QB Max Payne showed flashes of good passes like his brother with a gem to Dre Boyd to get BG out of a hole and led to the first TD. BG D played very well as a unit and Jacob Deglow CB also played very well breaking up several dangerous pass plays for the Purples.

BG Frosh sit at 7 and 0 with a return trip to Rash Stadium for a scrum with the Red Devils next Thursday!

Great job Little Purples!

John Hardin must be pretty good?

74,

I was pretty impressed with John Hardin overall, but especially defensively. BG typically scores close to 40 in their games this year (except when they played the Glasgow JV 26-20 W). John Hardin had a very good DLine and their LBs filled the gaps and supported well and for the most part limited BGs big running plays.

Don't expect much of a game against ohs next week. I think OHS has already pulled most of their best freshmen off the team. I know Owsley hasn't played freshman ball since the Male game. It will certainly be a depleted OHS freshman team.

58,

I think if they are good enough to play up then they should. I know Owsley is a difference maker. Plus I know you're 8th grade group this year is really strong.

There's not trophy for Freshman Ball, but still good for development!

Believe it or not, this is one of JH's weaker Freshman classes. They have lost 3 games this year but it's great that they play very hard and competed with BG.
