This was extremely ugly. Up until the last drive by Garrard in which they completed a 30-yard pass, Garrard only had about five yards of total offense. Coach Stonebraker played mostly freshmen on defense and a great deal of offense. This is perhaps the worst Garrard team since 1987, when they finished 1-9.

 

With that said, Lincoln has a nice team. Look for a solid season in their Class AAAA district.

This game could have been a lot worse. Lincoln had like 6 turnovers with at least five of those coming inside the redzone. Other than the turnovers Lincoln looked pretty good. Calhoun and Miller had great games at running back and Elliot had a great game on defense.

Yeah, I feel sorry for the Garrard Co players. They are a young bunch playing some tough teams. I hope they improve from playing so many young guys for the future. See you guys next week.

I guess Coach Stonebreaker lived up to his promise of playing the younger guys if they would put forth the effort.

Limited talent at the high school right now. A really solid freshman class that was 9-2 as middle schoolers last season is now there, but they are much too young to contribute a great deal. I think there are only about five sophomores and five juniors. Just looks like this year and next could be really tough.
