October 14, 20169 yr Impossible standards and expectations? I disagree wholeheartedly with that. Bo Pelini wasn't good enough winning 9 games every year. With their disadvantages in location I think averaging 9 wins is the best they can do, with contending every now and then. Different landscape than when they were dominating. Nebraska expects championships and I don't see them realistically contending most years.

You may need to ask MTGT about this but I think the problem with Pelini wasn't the 9 wins every year, it was that every big game NU played they lost. Nebraska has already had a geographic disadvantage. But with how quickly information travels nowadays it doesn't really matter where you are anymore, yeah it helps to be in Texas, SoCal, Florida, Ohio, etc. but you don't have to be anymore.

Let me put it this way, the kind of guys you need to beat Alabama and Ohio State consistently aren't coming to Nebraska. JMO, but its like a poor man's version of Notre Dame now.

Comparing anyone to these two programs right now is simply unfair.

Please elaborate to me what makes Bama a better job than OSU and Texas besides your opinion? We aren't comparing Saban and Meyer. We are debating what the better job is. If Alabama is a better job than OSU and Texas then why was Alabama basically an afterthought for my entire life until Nick Saban got there. Ohio State has been great basically my entire lifetime. Then Texas is Texas. They have more money, more resources, more in state talent, more everything basically. I don't quite understand you discounting my logic.
