October 11, 20169 yr I believe we wold see a left leaning SC take up cases that would erode our 2nd Amendment rights. It is unlikely that a complete ban case will come up, but smaller, baby step cases against manufacturers or gun stores regarding magazine capacity and maybe caliber choices would get consideration under a SC like this. They might even take up the issue of 'scary looking guns'.
October 11, 20169 yr Author This thread pretty much confirms what I was thinking. As much as people are trying to make the Supreme Court issue into a big one, I don't think it is for most Americans. The people who it is a big issue for are most likely right wing conservatives who want the court to rule their way on abortion and on gay marriage.

Because most Americans don't look past the end of their nose. A far left or far right court with a 6-3 or even 7-2 majority could fundementally impact our country more than most realize. They are there to be a check to the president and congress. They are not to be just a political stamp of approval and when needed, are to push back against their over reach. An over politicized court, left or right, is BAD for the country.

Best post on the matter I have read. We need a centrist court to hold the POTUS and Congress to task the way the founders intended.
