ACfan4 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 This is a game to watch out for this week as the Indians are undefeated, and KCD is one of the better teams in 1A with a very explosive offense led by Jared Frank who plays some QB, RB, and WR. Last year Adair won at KCD 45-19 in a rainy game, but KCD is better and more explosive this year. If you want to see a shootout then this is a game to get out and see this week.
charlesw88 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I'm taking Adair County. Yes KCD has improved but IMO they haven't quite closed the gap. Chance Melton will put up some big numbers running and throwing.
ATLCat Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I consider this a checkpoint game for Adair County KCD lost 56-20 to L.C.A I would think for Adair County to be considered a legitimate threat to win a few games in the playoffs and contend for the Semi-Finals they at the minimum need to be comparable to LCA. Adair should win this game by at least 3-4 TD's. Anything less I think you raise questions, put a running clock and you might see Adair finally crack the Top 10 this year and start getting on lots of people's radars
generaldowns Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I value ATLCat's opinion....he has seen a lot of high school football. The only way KCD keeps this respectable is if it turns into a shootout. The one thing I would caution is to pay a little less attention to the score versus LCA earlier in the season. Several key players for KCD were hampered by injuries and cramping in the second half of that ballgame. And the offense has changed DRAMATICALLY since that game. If anyone has watched KCD(and I realize it's a 1A team in a sea of higher profile teams in Jefferson Co, so that's unlikely) they would know how dramatic the offense changes have been after the LCA game. Defensively....still a schizo group. Teams make big plays on this defense regularly. Yet,several goal line stands in the Bethlehem game were kinda impressive. And the young-uns were in late and gave up several touchdowns which may have detracted from what was a pretty solid defensive effort Friday. But I've watched tape on Melton and the Lasley brothers along with the overall size and speed of AC. Adair wins this game...period. I'm not sure by a running clock. KCD can score....in bunches.

I thought that win over Bethlehem was a very nice win for KCD for what it's worth. I am not sure KCD has the Defense to stop a Beechwood...but it wouldn't surprise me to at least see them get a crack at the Tigers in the Regional Finals if they can take care of business in the regular season.

That would be a huge deal for KCD to get that far. Lots of football to be played before then. And I agree. The offense may have changed and improved....the D is a real work in progress.
Sportslover32 Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 This could be a very high scoring game but I think the difference could be the speed of Adair and especially Jordan Lasley. KCD has good skill guys but nobody with the speed of Lasley. I'm going Adair 54 KCD 38
