Ludlow 13 Carroll Cty 6

Do you really think that with the players they have would be better off under center? I mean in the Carroll County game Jarrett Rouse was barely getting anytime to throw, and that was in shotgun. If he was under center he would have even less time. Plus the line is not that big so its not really much of a power running team. I know this years team dont have Lewis, but they do have alot of talent at the skill positions. With Poe, Buddy Lunsford, Kyle York, and Joe gier at receievers they have alot of athletic ability out there. Then in the backfield with Cory Gilbert, and Braydon Mills they have two very athletic backs. So this team really is built to be a spread it out shotgun offense with all the athletes they have. I know the offense didn't do to great against Carroll but it was Ludlows first game and Carrolls second so of course Ludlow was going to have a little rust. Especially since they have a brand new QB this year. I really think we will see a big improvement in the offense this week though against Grant County.

Maybe they would be better off going under center some, but IMO the shotgun offense is perfect for them. Either way though GO PANTHERS!!!

I certainly do think they would be better off going under center more often. I'm old school and am not 100% opposed to the spread offense, but I also think an offense needs to have different looks. We do have good athletes at the skill positions and are a somewhat young team, but sadly our offense is too predictable. Either way I will be rooting on the Panthers week in and week out.

Rouse needs to complete some passes before I call him a QB. His accuracy is therre, just the timing was off. He needs to anticipate his throws a little more, of course running for his life in the pocket didn't help though. The running game was ok when trickery was involved to get past the front line of defenders. Offense: D+

The defense was pretty good against the run, need to wrap up those tackles at the line. However, on that CC touchdown pass there was no safety help and the corner got beat for playing too close. Defense: B

Not calling him a QB is a little harsh dont you think. If you look at the past Ludlow QB's none of them have had high completion percentages. But they all come up with a few big passes each game, and I expect it to be the same for Rouse cause he is a QB! I know Rouse threw the ball really good in the 2 scrimmage games, and yeah I know his passes were a little bit off in the Carroll game, but that was his first real game playing Varsity QB. You cant expect him to come in and make all the passes right away. He made up for it though with his running, I mean he did run for over a 100 yards in the game. The thing is he is more of a passing than a running QB, so I know I really liked what I saw because I know he will get the passing down. He was just a little bit off all night, but as I said before I think we will see an improvement this week against Grant.
