After all those years of Belfry playing and losing to Ironton, it is hard for me to imagine a Tiger team who is struggling to find wins. Not too long ago, they were a machine.

 

Here's hoping Russell pulls out a win for the good guys against Ohio. Go Red Devils.

 

The talent pool over there is a lot more shallow than it was 15-20 years ago. But, there's still a lot of pride in wearing that Ironton uniform. They won't role over and play dead for Russell. Plus, they ought to come out fired up, looking to atone for last week's embarrassing loss to Wheelersburg.

If there is still some pride among the Ironton players, then this should be a really good game. I am not sure it exists with this Ironton team, though. One thing I do know, Russell appears to be playing with pride and I am sure they will bring it on Friday night. If Ironton doesn't, then this could be another blowout loss for the Tigers.

I'm going to give the home team the nod and say Russell wins 21-12.

Hopefully this is the week that Russell's offense comes alive and Conley finds something breathing room. If so, give me the Devils by 3 TDs. If not, I think Russell has the resolve to grind out a win like they did in this game last year. Regardless, I expect to see a motivated Ironton team take the field tonight at "The Hank".
