Newport Catholic 3 Beechwood 2

Yeah too bad the boys supposedly can't play there for like the first three seasons or some nonsense. I think I read that on some other thread.

Title Nein?

Title Nein?

Nein nein nein! But in all seriousness I have no idea. Beechwood has been threatened with that paper tiger before about soccer and never failed to say no anyway.

Please use extreme caution when utilizing the "should have been score" phrase. I believe there is a NKY fan base that have intellectual property limiting its usage.

You mean the state champs or another team?

Kudos to Beechwood for playing attacking soccer. NCC missed a number of very good chances to extend the score and put the game out of reach. Its early, but that could hurt NCC down the road. Score probably should have been NCC 5-2 or better.

Is Logan Muck their primary forward? From what I've seen he can finish very nicely.

Bingo.

Muck and Eddie Schultz have done all the scoring through the first 3 games. Keeper in this match did a nice job defending a few chances. Muck has 2 in each of the first three games and Schultz has scored or assisted the others.

Schultz had the game winner from 25 yards

Schultz also assisted on the other two goals I believe. Played a nice game. Defense made nice adjustments after giving up first goal. Moses for Beechwood very quick and their other striker (#17) also has good speed. Rust had a very good game at outside back

Moses B. and Bogdan Shoyat (17) are both only Juniors. Moses played U18 soccer this past year, so he may age out and not be eligible his senior year, but he is definitely fun to watch.

Eddie Schultz has an engine that just doesn't stop. And he is a really nice young man.

It's kind of funny to read comments about only having the program for 4 years. Kids are only in high school for 4 years, so if you can't get them to play in a year or two you're really missing something. Maybe it has to do with drawing the right kids to your school? But if the kids live in the area and go to your school, you better be able to put things together in less than 4 years.
