Nicholas County 14 Bethlehem 0

Featured Replies

NC 88 had a 92-yard KO return to open the 2nd half to break the deadlock.

Bethlehem had several chances to score to tie it but couldn't convert. Eagles forced a punt with a little less than 4:00 to play, but a couple plays later Bethlehem's QB mishandled a low snap and NC recovered, scoring with less than a minute left to set the final margin.

Good win for Nicholas... Bethlehem should be solid too

Congrats to the BlueJackets!

After watching N.C. last week, they must have a great week of practice. Congrats on the win. Are these players starters for Bethlehem,. Ben Caskey (6-4 372) Dominic Swan (6-4 365) Jack Prescott (6-7 265) Tommy Crawford (6-3 274)?

Yes they were huge but Nicholas has quite a bit of size as well!

Crawford and Prescott both do. It's a whole new group, basically, as Crawford played more as a FB and sometimes TE last year, and backed up on the line. Prescott started last year. I'm trying to jog my memory from last night on other numbers who were out there a lot last night. 66 Shaq Hayes was, as was 63 Evan Morris and I think 60 Luis Collela. I can't recall if the other two got some PT, but I only got to see 2nd half, so I'm not sure who was in the rotation.

They've got some size, but there's a handful of those kids who have been out of school sick recently so I don't think they were at full strength. And they're mostly inexperienced, as 4 of 5 starters are gone from last year.

Glad those players are back. I remember many saying NC would be a different team with them back.

NC is a solid team. I like there smash mouth style. On a side note after the game NC prayed with Bethlehem and were very humble in victory. Best of luck to the Bluejackets the rest of the year. Bethlehem lost 5 starter on the line from last years region runner up squad, two are now playing college football.Bethlehem had one young man out will an illness. For Casky, Hayes, and Morris it was there first varsity start. Crawford had started some on the line last season but was eventually moved to the defensive side only while occasionally playing some FB and blocking TE. Prescott also stated at times on the line last season but was a tackle, Friday was his first start at center. If Bethlehem can get some line issues ironed out they can be pretty solid. Time will tell. Good luck to the Eagles the rest of the way as well.

I am high on them with all the talent they had returning. You have all season to get those wrinkles ironed out..
